It's been a hectic few weeks trying to get prepared for travel and getting the house in order, especially the kids room! We still have lots to do, but we're feeling much better about being more prepared. Now we just wait for travel dates. We were told to plan to travel at the end of July, but prepare as if you will travel in early July, just in case.  We usually get one month notice, but sometimes only two weeks! Yikes!

The kid's room looks great! Anne did an awesome job. She pulled old carpet and found horrible unfinished wood with paint marks, carpet staples and worst of all, patches of plywood where ductwork was installed! Finding a floor guy was an adventure, the first guy stood us up, but when I scrambled to find another guy, the new guy turned out to be great! The floors look fabulous (although the rest of the house is covered in saw dust!). Here's how it looks before and after:

Anne then painted the room sky blue with clouds. She created a felt tree with branches and leaves and monkeys and a squirrel hanging from and walking on the branches. (Don't worry, I think she's aware monkeys and squirrels don't typically hang together!) There are different animals hanging out on most of the walls. We bought and assembled TWO cribs (!!). Every time I see TWO cribs, I wonder what the heck we've gotten ourselves into!

Here I am helping to assemble one of the TWO cribs with my trusty assistance, Ollie.

Here's how the rest of the room turned out:

(Thanks, Carrie, for helping with all the sewing - curtains, crib bumpers, clothes. You are truly talented!)
